Overview
Tilray was the first company to legally export medicinal cannabis products from North America to Europe. In Portugal since 2017, Tilray holds a cultivation license from the competent authority in Portugal (INFARMED) allowing it to manufacture products for the European Union market.
The GMP certified cultivation and production facilities in Cantanhede are among the most advanced in the world. It includes outdoor and greenhouse growing sites, research laboratories, processing, packaging and distribution sites for medicinal cannabis preparations.

The Challenge
Due to different types of shipments from the production of Portugal, and supplying different countries, with different conditions / characteristics, TILRAY sought in our partnership to find solutions to monitor their shipments, to manage and track the temperature fulfilling the different criteria.

The Solution
Through the connection we have with different international monitoring partners, it was possible to find the most appropriate temperature monitoring solution for each, case by case: Country, Airline, Product Temperature Range, and extra information needed for each shipment, such as Geolocation, Humidity, Light, door/box opening….among many other conditions. Thus, we were able to propose, and keep stock of the identified solutions available whenever necessary, in order to serve the operation and be able to provide close support with our expertise, whenever necessary.

The Results
The volatility/uncertainty in international flights, as well as all the day-to-day influences and the scarcity of space on cargo routes in air transport, make the operations of the players in this new and demanding medical cannabis sector quite unpredictable.
The result of this local support service, close and increasingly tailored by ZØR to its partner TILRAY, makes the process more efficient, always guaranteeing the use of more specific/indicated monitoring solutions, producing a significant reduction in the waiting time for the datalogger as well as a consequent cost reduction.
