CASE STUDY
Pfizer Arg
Full traceability monitoring system and reusable
thermal bag for pharmaceutical companies
Overview
Several companies in the pharmaceutical industry share the challenge of reducing potential product losses and increasing efficiency during transportation in the thermal chain.
ZØR accepted the challenge, designing a reusable solution and a complete traceability plan, monitoring information such as the opening of the bags, their temperature and location.

The Challenge
A solution designed to reduce waste, minimize failures and record them throughout the entire thermal chain, the challenge that all these pharmaceutical companies face was to create a complete information and communication network throughout each phase of the thermal chain.
The Solution
In compliance with ZOR standards and our drivers to increase efficiency and reduce waste, the bag is designed to be reusable and used with PCM, ensuring optimal thermal conditions during product transportation.
It was also designed to be compatible with our real time monitoring system, communicating its location, temperature and use (opening of the bags).

“Constant data analysis and well designed communication systems pave the way to a less wasteful future.”
- Manuel Pizarro
- CEO of ZØR
The Results
The 1.800 bags that comprise the project removed from circulation about 36,000 styrofoam boxes per year, a considerable reduction in the ecological footprint. The use of PCM’s allows a single configuration for the whole year (instead of different configurations for summer and winter), and real-time monitoring communicates critical data continuously, both working to reduce risk and thus product losses.
For every thermal bag,
20 less styrofoam boxes are used every year.
